Your idea matters power innovation
- Formation: The Governance Council comprises 7 to 11 members elected from the Digital Rupee community. The council includes experts in blockchain technology, finance, law, and active community members. Elections are held annually, allowing any token holder to nominate themselves or be nominated by others.
- Responsibilities
- Overseeing day-to-day operations.
- Making policy decisions and setting strategic directions.
- Ensuring compliance with governance rules and regulations.
- Acting as the final arbiter in dispute resolutions.
- Term Length: Council members serve a one-year term, with the possibility of re-election for up to three consecutive terms.
- Transparency: All Council activities and decisions are documented and accessible to the community.
- Platform: A secure, decentralized platform is used for proposing and voting on various matters. The platform includes features for submitting proposals, discussing them, and casting votes.
- Voting Power: Voting power is proportional to the number of Digital Rupee tokens held by each voter. This ensures that individuals with a larger stake in the ecosystem have a proportionate influence on decisions.
- Quorum: For a vote to be valid, at least 20% of the total token supply must participate. This ensures that decisions are made with significant community involvement.
- Eligibility: Any token holder can submit proposals. This inclusivity encourages a wide range of ideas and active community participation.
- Submission Process: Proposals must be submitted through the designated governance platform. Each proposal should include:
- Objective: Clearly defined goals and intended outcomes.
- Detailed Explanation: Comprehensive description of the proposal.
- Impact Analysis: Assessment of potential impacts on the ecosystem.
- Implementation Plan: Steps and resources required for implementation.
- Proportional Voting: Voting power is determined by the number of tokens held by each voter. This ensures that those with a larger stake have more influence, reflecting their investment in the ecosystem.
- Transparency: All votes are recorded on the blockchain, ensuring transparency and immutability. This builds trust and accountability within the community.
- Public Records: All proposals, discussions, votes, and decisions are publicly accessible and recorded on the blockchain. This ensures transparency and allows community members to stay informed.
- Proposal Requirements: Proposals must include objectives, a detailed explanation, impact analysis, and an implementation plan. This ensures that proposals are well-thought-out and feasible.
- Preliminary Review: The Governance Council conducts an initial review to assess the feasibility and compliance of each proposal with existing regulations and policies.
- Council Review: The Governance Council reviews each proposal and provides feedback within 14 days. This review process ensures that proposals are viable and align with the community’s goals.
- Community Feedback: An open period of 14 days is provided for community discussion and feedback before voting begins. This encourages informed voting and allows for refinement of proposals based on community input.
- Duration: Voting periods typically last between 7 to 30 days, allowing sufficient time for all interested parties to participate.
- Result Announcement: Results are announced immediately after the voting period ends, ensuring timely implementation of decisions.
- Execution: Approved proposals are implemented by designated teams or contributors within 30 days. Clear timelines and responsibilities are established to ensure efficient execution.
- Progress Reports: Regular updates on the implementation progress are provided to the community. This ensures transparency and accountability.
- Funding: The treasury is funded by transaction fees, donations, and other revenue streams. This provides financial resources for the ecosystem’s development and maintenance.
- Management: The treasury is managed by the Governance Council with oversight from the community. This ensures that funds are used responsibly and in the community’s best interest.
- Approval: All expenditures require community approval through the voting process. This ensures that all spending aligns with community priorities.
- Reporting: Regular financial reports are published to ensure transparency and allow the community to track how funds are being used.
- Regular Audits: Audits are conducted quarterly to ensure the integrity and security of the treasury. Independent third-party auditors are engaged for this purpose.
- Audit Reports: Audit reports are published and accessible to the community. This ensures transparency and builds trust.
- Audits: Regular security audits of smart contracts are conducted by third-party auditors. This helps identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Bug Bounties: Programs are established to incentivize community members to identify and report security vulnerabilities. This encourages proactive security measures.
- Regulatory Adherence: The Digital Rupee ecosystem complies with local and international financial regulations. Ongoing legal consultation ensures adherence to relevant laws.
